In MELISSA KIKIZAS, the raw material is in the foreground. This is why in 2018 we started the construction of our new semolina mill and the new wheat silos in Larissa, a major investment of a total of €13 million, which is expected to improve the productivity of the pasta factory, as well as to maintain the high quality of the finished products.
The vertically integrated mill-pasta factory complex, which has been located in Larissa since 1974, covers an area of 21 acres and is not only one of the most modern vertically integrated mill-pasta factory complexes in Europe, but also the largest in the Balkans. Built to specifications that follow the latest technological developments, the complex achieves an annual production of more than 55,000 tons of pasta, with a capacity of 90,000 tons per year. The total building coverage of the unit is 30,000 sq.m., with a storage capacity of 10,000 pallets.
As for the raw material, the plant processes 100% hard Greek wheat, mainly from the Thessaly plain. The production process is fully automated and product quality is ensured by the operation of advanced systems and the adherence to strict control protocols. The meticulous selection of the best raw material, combined with the excellent equipment and our qualified staff, ensure the ideal quality result for MELISSA pasta.
Our headquarters and head office are housed in privately owned buildings with an area of 4.000 sq.m., on Kifissos Avenue in Athens. This area accommodates our administrative functions, covering the daily needs of our employees with the appropriate facilities.
